Skills for Life

We help young people gain the skills they need to shine bright

Based in Farnborough Village in Orpington, Kent and founded on October 9th 1911, we’ve been active continuously for over 100 years, providing Scouting ‘skills for life’ for young people aged from 6 -18 years old.

Welcome to 1st Farnborough (Kent)

1st Farnborough Scouts is part of the Bromley Scouts District, one of the largest in the country.

We’re a proactive group, delivering Scouting experiences to around 80 young people per week. We actively follow the UK Scouts Association programme, which covers everything from traditional Scouting skills such as knotting and map reading through to more modern activity’s like programming robots and geocaching!

Most recently we started an Explorer Unit for young people aged 14-18. Morris Explorers was aptly named after our first Scout Master, Gilbert Willan Morris.
