Based in Farnborough Village in Kent and founded on October 9th 1911, we’ve been active continuously for over 110 years, providing Scouting ‘skills for life’ for young people aged from 6 -18 years old.
1st Farnborough Scouts is part of the Bromley Scouts District, one of the largest Scout districts in the UK. Our Group serves the communities of Farnborough, Locksbottom, Pratts Bottom and Orpington.
Every week, we provide fun, adventurous and skills-based activities for around 80 young people, helping them develop confidence, teamwork and independence while making lasting friendships.
Our programme combines classic Scouting adventures—such as camping, navigation, pioneering and outdoor skills—with modern activities including coding, robotics, geocaching and community projects. We follow the UK’s Scouts programme, ensuring our young people enjoy a varied, exciting and age-appropriate experience that prepares them for life.
We also have Morris Explorers, our Explorer Scout Unit for young people aged 14–18. The Unit is named in honour of our first Scoutmaster, Gilbert Willan Morris, recognising his lasting contribution to the Group and its history.
